"iPhoto compliant computer" -- now that's a novel way to say "proprietary overpriced hardware"!

Not crazy about iPhoto. I don't want to create albums, I want to tag images.

You might want to look at Photoshop Album by ObviousTroll (2.00 / 0) #3 Fri Feb 24, 2006 at 08:14:31 AM EST
I believe Adobe has cloned copied adapted independently developed an application similar to iPhoto, called "photoshop album" - and it has a free download.

Caveat: I have not tried it, so I can't comment on the indexing abilities. I'm assuming that they are at least as good as iPhoto - which uses the same kind of organizing model that iTunes uses, plus user-defined tags/keywords. Looking at Adobe's website it sounds like they may have turned it into more of a ultra-primative Photoshop, I dunno.
